Western Star Trucks

Western Star Trucks, formally Western Star Trucks Sales, Inc., is a relatively new trucking manufacturer. Western Star semis and other Western Star truck models are forming their own legacy. Western Star trucks have been on the market for 56 years, since 1967. Through the past half a century, Western Star truck models have become known for their durability, strength, and customization options. Western Star trucks are often used for demanding tasks where standard commercial trucks may not suffice.

 

Headquarters and ManufacturingOriginally founded in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, and is currently headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Manufacturing is in Portland and Cleveland, South Carolina.

Western Star manufactures a variety of trucks designed for on-highway, off-highway, and vocational uses. Western Star 57X 

The 57X is one of the current Western Star truck models. The 57X is designed specifically for towing trailers, with no real vocational purposes. It’s a more premium model when compared to its vocational counterparts (the 47X and 49X). The 57X is designed with safety, driver comfort, and functionality in mind. These trucks come equipped with a variety of modern features including the Detroit Assurance® Suite of Safety Systems including lane assist, brake assist, adaptive cruise control, and more. The Western Star 57X’s sleeper cab and driver’s lounge are designed to combine comfort, luxury, and necessity for life on the road. Modern technology and connectivity, combined with stunning aerodynamics and powertrain make this the most comfortable and fuel-efficient Western Star semi yet. 

Western Star 5700XE

The Western Star 5700XE was launched in 2015 and was designed especially for on-highway applications. The 5700XE can be outfitted as a sleeper or a day cab and introduced improved aerodynamics for Western Star. As a fun fact, the 5700XE is the truck Optimus Prime transforms into in the Transformers films Age of Extinction (2014) and The Last Knight (2017).  

Western Star 4700 Series 

The 4700 Series Western Star can be outfitted for vocational or on-highway applications. For on-highway use, this Western Star semi offers a day cab or a sleeper configuration and is primarily used for shorter haul deliveries and transportation.

Western Star 47X 

The Western Star 47X is one of two current vocational Western Star trucks for sale. The 47X chassis sits on a heavy-duty vocational frame engineered to stand up to the demands dump trucks, concrete mixers, and crane trucks experience. The truck is designed to be easily outfitted with features that provide simple access to wiring and control to upfit any type of truck including dump trucks, cement mixers, and cranes. Modern technology includes driver control panels, advanced safety features, and programmable switches for vocational applications. The day cab and sleeper versions provide the best combination of driver comfort, safety, and efficiency to get the job done. 

Western Star 49X 

The Western Star 49X is similar to the Western Star 47X, but more heavy-duty and offers more customization options. Similar technology, safety features, and cab configurations to the Western Star 47X, but ready to take on even more of a challenge. The Western Star 49X has a chassis and cab that can withstand even the toughest jobs – constructed from premium-grade aluminum and enhanced with steel reinforcements. 

 

Western Star 6900 Series 

The 6900 Series of Western Star trucks for sale were the highest capacity models built by Western Star. These trucks were designed for off-highway vocational uses, including logging, mining, and similar heavy-duty operations. 

 

Western Star 4900 Series

The Western Star 4900 Series is a multi-use truck/tractor targeted at a variety of industries. Options for the 4900 series trucks include being built as a tractor with a fifth wheel, a bare chassis for a bodybuilder to outfit, or a lowered-cab model for auto-hauling. 

 

Western Star 4800 Series

Western Star’s 4800 Series provided more powerful engine options than the 4700. The Western Star 4800 could be fitted as a dump truck, mixer, tank, crane, or other similar structures.

The Western Star 4700 Series trucks can be outfitted for nearly any vocational application, with engineering designed to reduce time, and cost, and improve access for upfitting.
